Emergency commercial roofing in Phoenix

Microburst, haboob, and hail response across the Valley — contain, document, then repair.

  • Late July 2024: 77 mph in west Phoenix

A microburst over west Phoenix brought National Weather Service-measured winds of up to 77 mph, collapsed the roof of an industrial building, brought down a second structure, and knocked out power to roughly 31,000 people at its height. That is what a Valley commercial roof emergency looks like: fast, local, and total on the building it hits.

  • Containment before the next cell

Monsoon storms come in clusters, and the roof opened at 6 p.m. gets rained on again at 9. Our first job is to stop the water — tarping, temporary membrane, and clearing the drains the debris just blocked — and the second is to photograph everything before and after, time-stamped, so the carrier sees the storm damage and not our tarp.

  • Heat changes how emergency work is done

A Phoenix roof at 2 p.m. in July is well above air temperature and hot enough to injure a crew and soften the materials used to patch it. Emergency work here is scheduled around the heat as well as the storm — early, late, and with the right products for the surface temperature.

  • What we hand the adjuster

A dated photo record by roof section, the square footage of each damaged area, a note on which areas were physically accessed and which were documented from a safe distance, and the containment invoice itemized separately from the repair scope — so the emergency work is paid as emergency work.
