What we actually inspect

Storm damage is rarely visible from the ground — hail bruising and wind-lifted shingles hide in plain sight. Here's what a real inspection covers.

Shingles: hail bruising & granule loss

We check every slope for impact bruising, cracked mats, and granule loss — the damage that totals roofs but can't be seen from the driveway.

Wind damage: creasing & lift

Wind creases and breaks shingle seals long before anything blows off. We test bond lines and look for lifted tabs and exposed fasteners.

Flashing & penetrations

Chimneys, valleys, skylights, and pipe boots — where most leaks actually start. We document their condition, not just the shingles'.

Gutters, vents & collateral damage

Dented gutters, downspouts, and soft-metal vents are the corroborating evidence adjusters look for. We photograph all of it.

Ventilation & visible interior signs

Poor attic ventilation shortens a roof's life and can void warranties. Where accessible, we check airflow and visible decking condition.

The photo file

Every finding is photographed and dated. If a claim makes sense, your file is matched to a documented storm date — evidence, not guesswork.

How it works

  1. 01

    Book a time that fits

Pick a window — most inspections take under an hour. You don't need to be on the roof, or even home, if you'd rather not be.

  2. 02

    We inspect & document

A PRQ inspector walks the roof, attic-checks where accessible, and photographs everything worth knowing about.

  3. 03

    You get a straight answer

A written verdict: sound roof, minor repairs, or storm damage worth an insurance conversation. If it's fine, we say so and leave.

Storm damage? Your inspection becomes your claim.

If we find claim-worthy damage, the same documentation becomes the foundation of your insurance claim — photos, storm date, and scope. We meet your adjuster on the roof and see the claim through. And by law, your deductible is the only cost a legitimate roofer will ever quote you.

Free inspection FAQs

Is the inspection really free? What's the catch?

Really free, no catch. Inspections are how we meet homeowners — some become customers, many just get peace of mind. There's no obligation and no pressure either way; if your roof is sound, we tell you that in writing.

How long does it take?

Usually 45 minutes to an hour on site, depending on roof size and access. You'll typically have the written summary the same day.

Do I need to be home?

No — the inspection happens outside and on the roof. Many homeowners book a window, go about their day, and get the report by phone or email.

Should I file an insurance claim before or after the inspection?

After. A documented inspection tells you whether a claim is worth filing at all — and if it is, you'll file with photos, a storm date, and a scope in hand instead of guessing.

What if you find damage but I don't want to file a claim?

That's your call, always. You keep the report and photo file either way. Some damage is worth a small repair instead of a claim — we'll tell you which is which.
