Chicagoland takes real storm damage
Chicagoland just took another major hail beating on July 27–28, 2026 — on top of the July 15, 2024 derecho and the repeated hail of spring 2025, with the Naperville/I-88 corridor squarely in-path. Hail bruising and wind-lifted shingles are often invisible from the ground; we inspect for them and document the damage for your carrier.
Class 4 shingles = insurance savings
Many carriers offer a premium discount for Class 4 (UL 2218) impact-resistant shingles — a smart upgrade in a metro that now sees hail most years. We install them and document the upgrade so you can take the discount to your insurer.
Illinois law protects your deductible
Under the Illinois Home Repair and Remodeling Act (815 ILCS 513/18), a contractor may not pay or rebate any part of your insurance deductible as an inducement — so be cautious of anyone who offers. We bill the claim straight; your only cost is the deductible you already owe.
Licensed Illinois roofers — check the number
Illinois requires a state roofing contractor license (225 ILCS 335), and the license name and number must appear on every contract and bid; Cook County adds its own contractor registration on top. The storm-chasers who canvass after a big hail event often aren't licensed here — verify the number before you sign.
Permits & inspection, handled
A full roof replacement needs a permit across the metro — the City of Chicago through the Department of Buildings, and each DuPage, Will, and Cook County municipality through its own building department. The permit triggers a code inspection of underlayment, flashing, and ventilation. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection wherever you are.
